Established in 2020, Burrundi translates "black" into Wiradjuri Dialect & is inspired by the movement of Black Theatre of the 1970s. The old Black Theatre site is situated on the block of the Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern. A re-connection of innovative change has its roots in a cultural revolution fired by political activism synonymous with the arts. It's always relevant in the trajectory of survival for NSW peoples and culture and true histories, black histories.
