About Marian Booth Piano Lessons

I am knowledgeable of different teaching styles and I can adapt these to the pupils' needs. Preparation is the key to a good session. I plan each lesson, as well as a long-term development plan, setting reachable objectives and making sure the pupil understands these before moving on to the next section in the lesson. In each lesson, I intend to cover all the different aspects of music theory, musicianship skills, and aural and kinaesthetic training, and I use a diversity of materials such as flashcards and percussion instruments.

Most importantly I encourage the pupil to make music from the first lesson. The time spent practising at home is 90% of the job, I make sure my pupils know how to face and solve musical difficulties at home that will arise as they improve.
